It really annoys me as my ex partner doesnt pay for our son and the csa says that they can not trace him, yet when they assess my husband they dont take into consideration that he is bringing up another mans son
thanks everyone for your answers x

if your husband is on the old system the claim by the child's mother was done before 1993! i'd definately ring the csa and ask them why theyre now taking into account your wages when they havent before, also if you have children that are living with you they should take that into account and deduct some anyway, the csa have a online calculator also. if they are now taking into account your money etc then u also need to make sure they dont backdate it if theyve never done it before, my friend works for the csa and it's in such a mess
The csa is a right mess! My husband is unable to get any reduction for my son because his not his natural father, he has to adopt him then he will be able to get a reduction. Its crazy as my sons father doesnt pay anything yet we have to pay and go with out.Dont get me wrong i am all for absent parents paying for their children but the system needs to change to make fair on everyone.Ifeel like we are paying to keep one family afloat while ours is sinking.I can understand how families split up or even worse do something not worth thinking about over this.
i really suggest you ring the csa, ask them why they havent asked for your wage input before? also ask them why your son isnt taken into consideration, my friend has a little boy and his father has to pay 5 a week for his upbringing because he lives with a woman who has 4 kids all by a different bloke and them children are put first, i think the csa need to make their minds up.
