urgh new neighbours!!
24 Answers
I have been decorating our new house, we will be moving in next friday (hopefully) anyway where I live now (rough council estate) everyone is so nice and friendly except the asbo's (ppl accross the road) and the gang of thugs who plague everyone here.
We saw our new neighbour yesturday and bid her a friendly hallo, to which she gave us a look of disgust (okay we were in decorating clothes and covered in various blobs of paint) but barely acknowledged us.
my first inpression was "snotty cow" which I know is wrong but that was the first descriptive thought of her in my head, however understandably there were a family from hell living here prior so she may feel a little concerned as to the calibre of her new neighbours, we did look like tramps and we are both fairly loud people (lol not a good mental image!)
Im hoping the family next door will thaw out once they realise that we are awesome neighbours!!
Does anyone here have neighbour problems? Im hoping mine will iron out but there is always the chance that we will have the kind of non existant relationship only seen in the more plush sides of london ;)

i think 1 encounter isnt really enough to judge on, who knws whats going on in their lives .. she could have just lost her purse, been told she has cancer, had divorce papers anything that made her not want to talk and smile and be nice at that moment.
I never notice names much on here, but are you the caz witht the disabled children who was waiting for a bigger house? If so well done!

Hiya cazzz, congrats on your fab new house! Well, my street is set for "regeneration" (read demolition!) and so I have nobody either side of me, but some noisy folks across the road tht p*ss me off a bit when I need to be up at 6am and they're shouting and screeching at 1am! Not sure how to approach them, especially if my partner is on nights, but will get round to it. Definitely. Soon...As has been said, she maybe just didn't feel much like a chat.
I am normally cheery and chirpy but if you crowd me on the train after a full day at Uni, pushing me up and banging me with your bags, I am just grumpy!
Hope you can make friends, good neighbours are great to have!
(When I grow up and have lots of money I am going to live on an island that's invitation-only, and it will be sooooo quiet!)

I detest my neighbour, he rants at anyone, its victor meldrew but with serious aggression problems, the problem for him tho is that i'm not the lying down type {tail between my legs} who takes orders from this ar$ehole.
He picked on my wife for no apparent reason the other week {thats the norm for him}, i came home from work and i went {verbally} balistic on him, he said he would call the police, so i saved him the time and rang them for him, the police came around and said he's ''known'' to them, at that he's come flying out the house ranting and raving, so the police told him to shut it in so many words then they left, i would'nt let it go tho, so i knocked on his door again and told him if ever he insults my wife again i'll rip his head off, i know i should'nt adopted this approach, but some idiots out there only understand one language.
Ps, I've not heard him rant for the past few weeks, tho i must underline that what i done was the wrong approach and please don't follow my actions against your unrulely neighbours, let the police deal with it

Hi cazz, no problems with neighbours, just wanted to say I am sure once the people get to know you, they will get a petition going to get you out, lol, seriously I would think it will be just great, they probably are just a bit wary after the last neighbours they had, looks a lovely house, hope you are very happy living there, good luck, Ray xx
every council estate I have ever lived on has been super nice, however this area is a mix of housing association/shared ownership and private housing, so I am a bit out of my depth!!
there is a bit of a "keep themselves to themselves" attitude around here, but hell I dont care!, we are pretty good neighbours (no disturbances/loud music/parties/regular police vists, look after property) they will have to learn to love us !!!

wow laurence!, we have a guy who lives in the street who is similar, he supposedly is disabled and smokes a lot of cannibis, he comes out screaming at everyone and fronting up for fights.
one morning I heard him screaming at his wife in the street he was calling her all the names under the sun including a fat b****rd (she isnt fat) and why??? cos she left the bathroom window open!

Hi cazzz, I remember you posting about going to view a house a little while ago and wondered what had happened about it. Glad it was a positive outcome. Looks great.
Perhaps your new neighbour thought you were someone on a community service order decorating for the housing association. I think people are always a bit wary of new people moving in. I'm sure she probably be ok.
Personally I am so lucky with the neighbours I have. I always vow that should I win the lottery I wouldn't move because I doubt whether I'd find anyone better to llive next door to.
Good luck.
Laurence. Good on you for standing up to that bully. Thats what they need sometimes. Be careful he doesn't do something sneaky behind your back. Another trait those types are fond of.

One thing Cazz, never, ever, say or think you are out of your depth. We are all the same, council or private. I am sure you will all get along just great.
Welcome in your new home anyway.
