I want to get a family tree done dating back as far as possible. Can anyone recommend a company that will do it all for me? And roughly how much would it cost? I would want to have it done in as much detail as possible. Thank you.

I would imagine it would cost a fortune to get someone to do it properly. The cost will depend on how much work they put into it and how long it takes.

As an idea, I've found a website where one researcher charges �12 per hour or will do an in-depth family research project for �500 - for that they will do a 3 month investigation. See http://www.familyresearcher.co.uk/Charges.htm

It is far cheaper and more rewarding to do it yourself, it isn't difficult.

If you buy one of the family history magazines available in W H Smiths you'll find quite a few of these services advertised.

Do it yourself it's much more fun, and you get a real buzz when you find something out. Sites like genes reunited and ancestry are great value for money and you might get to find relatives you didn't know you had, and meet up. Buy one of the family history mags as mentionned above, or go to the websites.
