Sister's Tongue Cancer "Part 2"
9 Answers
Hi All, recently I posted about my younger sister having tongue cancer, I just want to tell every one that my sister has had her operation which involved having part of her right side of tongue removed and her Lymph Nodes. As you can imagine it was a very stressful time for all our family not mention my sister.
She had all her staples out of her her neck on the 19th of this month ( 53 of them ) last Friday she went back to the hospital for the results of what they took away, and I'm very pleased to tell you that she is "ALL CLEAR".
You can't imagine the relief we all felt about this fantastic news, its a wonderful feeling that I will always hold dear to my heart.
My sister will be monitored for the next 5 years and will have some speech therapy although she is speaking really well, it's the tees she has trouble with, she is in good spirit's and is hopeful for the future.

What a terrible time that must have been for not only her but her loving family looking on. It's an awful disease whereby the treatment to cure is just as traumatic as the diagnosis. The speech will be fine and even if it's not perfect it will be her own quirky little way of speaking which actually serves as a little reminder of just how lucky she is.
