You need to be organised, secure, safe and honest before you tell your folks you are leaving, they will respect you and may even help and support you , if you are straight with them and act like the adult you are anting to be. if that means hanging around with your folks a few months longer then do it, but when you are really ready and organised, remember they love you and don;t want you in harms way

Hi CRC, it depends on how old you are. Since you are asking I bet you are under 18. If they let you go out on your own or with a friend THEY can get in trouble fron Social Services. Either you must legally become an emancipated minor, or have them agree to let you go. BTW if you plan on staying with someone 18 or older, that person could be in trouble for "kidnapping" or other charges your parents could accuse them of.
Be very sure of the decision to go. Especially if you go out of anger. ( If you live in a dangerous situation that is different and you must tell someone at school, church police' etc.) It is often hard to go back or un-do things we do in the heat of the moment.
