britain's youngest mums

does anyone know the names of some of britain's youngest ever mums and dads? and parents who have had lots of children by the time they're like 20/25?

Its not the youngest, but my step cousin had a baby at 14!
She hid it the entire time just by waring baggier clothes as she didnt show much, first her mum new she was taken to hospital with 'appendicitus' (sp) and they announced to her mum in the ambulance she was in labour!

Ive just had a baby at 21 - she is 13 weeks old now, after i had her i realised just how young i was to have a child, how younger people then me cope - i'll neverno!! I will not be having anymore till im about 25/26, x x

I truly know someone who, by the age of 21, had 5 children. Yes, you read that correctly!

I went to school with two girls who have 6 children. I am 28 and theres is also a mum at my kid's school who is 17. Her boy has started year one so she must have been 12.

2 girls my daughter knew got pregnant at 15.... one had it-the other aborted.

Those stories are amazing - especially the one about the 12 year old, which is sadly becoming more common.
The girl I know started at 15, and had her fifth child before hitting 22. She's a very attractive girl, and I can't for the life of me see why she wanted to drag herself down at such a young age. One or two, and you might excuse the accident - but five, almost in a row???

LOL-i believe in waiting...didn't have mine til 38! But that is very much an exception.....I realy don't know how they can afford it.....even with benefits. That is not the way to start motherhood.

I very much agree with you, and there are advantages to waiting until later to have your family. One, I think you mature with age, and are therefore going to be more sensible than if you'd started very young, and two, an "older" couple are more likely to be established in both their relationship and home.
I see a lot of young girls - mostly single parents - who have to survive on benefits. It's far from easy, and if subsequent children come along, it makes the situation even worse. That's not to say that some young people can't manage, or that they love their babies any the less, but the chances of those children succeeding in today's world is pretty low.

Most women for the greater part of our human existence started having their children soon after starting their periods - an age that varies depending on genes and nutrition.
The written record- which is very patchy - shows aristocrats having families from the age of 12-14 onwards, so what were the peasantry doing, even if they knew their ages?
I feel that the youth are just doing what they are genetically programmed to do - but the risk of babies and mothers dying is vastly reduced.
I read online that Fanny Cradock's mum had here at the age of 15 - now how's that for recommendation........

I had my daughter 2 months after my 15th birthday. She is now 14 and a very bright girl doing extremly well in school. I also have 2 other children aged 9 and 2.
Being a teenage mum isn't a bed of roses (its very hard work) but I wouldn't change a thing. My children are my life and Im proud of all of them.
Saying that.......... If my eldest comes home next year telling me she's pregnant I doubt I'll be so happy.......

Hi we had five children by the time we were 23. One at 18, twins at 21 and another set of twins at 23. All to the same dad and yes we are still together.
Yes it was hard, my husband worked the whole time except for a year, which was hard but we got by.

What got me down was every one elses re-action, we were forever being asked if they were all ours, if they all had the same dad and were we on benefits. We were always out and about with the kids swimming, visits to local parks , out on our bikes or just down the beach, a lot of the time we had their friends as well. It was great and I loved it (most of the times lol).

I was a stay at home mum for 16 years, then worked in a charity shop for 18 months and now I had been working in shop for the past 2 years. Yes I had them young I dont regret one minute and I feel and can now get time for me, which I waited a long time for.

Please don't tar everyone with the same brush, just because people have kids when they are young or more than three kids does not mean they are no good, we were always made to feel like that.
