can premium texts be disabled on a contract mobile phone ?

i have confiscated my sons mobile phone because he keeps using premium texts at about �1-50 a go and I pay the bill !!!
Is there any way I can turn these off to make sure he cant use them so he can have his phone back ?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.If you contact the provider (orange, vodafone etc) they MUST BY LAW give you a normal phone number that you can ring and ask them to stop sending your son text messages. If your son is also under 18(or maybe 16) , then the agreement must be under your name. You can phone up the provider and ask them to block premium texts. He cannot undo this as he will not be authorised to do it.
