Could anyone tell me what age the youngest child has to be before a single parent is unable to claim income swupport and has to claim job seekers allowance instead

a friends young lady friend has been told she has to find work , her son is 12 . i think the following is true

stop income support for parents once a child reaches age 12 this year, and worse it goes down to age 7 in 2010.
