We are due to get married in 2011 and I am in a dilemna regards how to set the top table out!!

My partners parents are deceased so we have my parents, my son (4yrs), my partners children (13yr girl, 15 yrs boy and 22 yr male who is to be best man - but my partner says he wants his 15 yr old to be his 2nd best man - dont ask), then I have my sister (chief bridesmaid) followed by my two neices (4yr and 6 yrs). Not everyone needs to be on the top table but it can cater for 8-10 people), we can also put a half moon table in front as an add on to top table .....

How would anyone plan it!!

My partner says his 22 yr old should be next to him followed by his 15 yr old then our 4 yrs old!! My side he thinks should be my Dad, then Mum, then sister and his daughter!!! Youngest bridesmaid in half moon table with their Dad and possibly my partner brother and very close aunt!!

HELP!!!

I know its all what you decide yourself but how would the tradition go bearing in mind we dont have my partners parents!??

Sounds enough to make me opt for a buffet!!
i think traditional is.

chief bridemaid, grooms mother, brides father, bride, groom, brides mother, grooms father, best man.

Perhaps place your children in the place usually for grooms parents.

Then have a table near with other close family and groomsmen / bridesamaid on
I agree with redcrx, his two children should take the places of his parents but unless they know your parents I'd put them together and let your parents sit together.
You arent getting married till 2011 and you are already worrying about who is going to sit at the top table.

Just go away for a quiet wedding and escape all the hassle, a big wedding just isn't worth it.
