Morning, daftgrandad.....is it this one?.....

I Did Not Die

Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there, I did not die.
or it could be his one?........

When you feel a gentle breeze
Caress you when you sigh
It's a hug sent from Heaven
From a loved one way up high.

If a soft and tender raindrop
Lands upon your nose
They've added a small kiss
As fragile as a rose.

If a song you hear fills you
With a feeling of sweet love
It's a hug sent from Heaven
From someone special up above.

If you awaken in the morning
To a bluebird's chirping song
It's music sent from Heaven
To cheer you all day long.

If tiny little snowflakes
Land upon your face
It's a hug sent from Heaven
Trimmed with Angel lace.

So keep the joy in your heart
If you're lonely my dear friend
Hugs that are sent from Heaven
A broken heart will mend

Hallo again yogi.
I thought there was another one. They are both so lovely its difficult to know which one to choose.I think the second one might be best considering her age.
Thankyou for taking so much trouble, typing them all out.You are very kind.
Regards dg
I'm so very sorry for your daughter's friend's sad passing away.....so tragically young too.

Please pass on my sincere condolences to your daughter, and her friends family. God Bless.

p.s The poem is lovely and will serve as a great memory.

Kind Regards to you, daftgrandad
Hello again, daftgrandad,

I like the second one too......
It was posted, as you say, to an Ab'ers sad loss, by an AB'er called "loopyloola" and is just a lovely poem.
Whichever you decide on, i send you all my sympathies and thanks for your kind words to me.

Best Wishes,

Ian
Love the second one Yogi!

I am gonna copy it and keep it, because all I seem to do these days is go to funerals.
There was another one, it's called "Do not stand at my grave and weep"
Rinkins, read the first poem girl!!!!
SOrry funny, think I may have slipped a few of your pain killers. The other one is "Death is nothing at all" Barmaid posted I think
Death is nothing at all

I have only slipped away into the next room

I am I and you are you

Whatever we were to each other

That we are still

Call me by my old familiar name

Speak to me in the easy way you always used

Put no difference into your tone

Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow

Laugh as we always laughed

At the little jokes we always enjoyed together

Play, smile, think of me, pray for me

Let my name be ever the household word that it always was

Let it be spoken without effort

Without the ghost of a shadow in it

Life means all that it ever meant

It is the same as it ever was

There is absolute unbroken continuity

What is death but a negligible accident?

Why should I be out of mind

Because I am out of sight?

I am waiting for you for an interval

Somewhere very near

Just around the corner

All is well.

Nothing is past; nothing is lost

One brief moment and all will be as it was before

How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting when we meet again!

Thankyou all so very much, for your kind words.
I e-mailed the second poem to my daughter and she replied, that,it had made her cry.
She has posted on her friends condolence blog.

My sincere sympathies to you Wingnut,on your recent loss.I am sure, like me,your Uncle will take comfort from these words.

My kindest regards to all. dg
many years i went to a very sad funeral (some are some arent) the chap that read the poem which started with the words 'there she blow's' he can't remember what it was, perhaps some of you good and kind people know it? sorry about daftgrandads extended family loss.
daftgrandad, please pass on my condolences to you daughter. The poem I read out at my sister's funeral was one which I had written. If you would like to use it you may. It goes; " She's just asleep, she'll never die, for in our thoughts she'll always lie. In our hearts her memory stays, as we all go our separate ways.O'er rockey road, through leafy lane, until we meet up once again. A date we know we'll surely keep, for we then too will be asleep.
