Bloody tooth fairy
17 Answers
Since the 'crisis' with the tooth fairy about two weeks ago, my daughter's tooth has fallen out today and she is expecting a special box from the tooth fairy too - not easy on a bank holiday when the shops have shut! As she forgot about it at bed time we are going to have to front it out in the morning and sort something out for tomorrow night (these things have a horrible way of spiralling out of control - hope no one mentions it to the two youngest when their teeth start falling out, will cost us a fortune).

Tell her that the Tooth Fairy doesn't work on bank holidays :)

I remember getting one of mine a pair of trainers from the market for £10. She was just at the age when kids start feeling embarrassed if they haven't got the 'right gear'. When she got in from school and I gave them to her, she had a neutral face and asked how much they were. I said £55. Her face lit up and she put them on straightaway, beamimg from ear to ear.
Used to just get a pound from the fairy and they were happy but two weeks ago my son's tooth fell out (one which had been badly chipped when he was about two and looked awful) and then he swallowed it. As the printer wasn't working he got a special 'present' of a little tooth fairy box (an old present from my husband that the kids weren't aware of). Now our daughter is expecting something special!
pussnboots I think I've told this tale before but never mind. When my daughter was about 6 or 7 and at infants school she lost a tooth one night. I made a teeny weeny letter from tissue paper and made a small envelope ( fairy size) I wrote a thank you for tooth from the fairy and put it under her pillow with some sparkley dust and a 10p (cheaper in those days) she took the letter to school and all the other kids then expected the same, the other mothers weren't very happy with me as they all had to start making fairy letters.

Sher, I got a box for my daughter when her teeth started to fall out and it's specially for teeth. It's a wooden tooth with a face on it and a hat that comes off for you to put the teeth in. It cost a pound (although it was a good few years ago now) and it was out of Debenhams or another of the big department stores.
It wasn't quite like this, but here's a job lot on Ebay (US site)
