Hi All,

I don't know if I am in the right section, but not sure what topic this comes under.

I got told by my GP this morning that my results from the blood test that I had last week, showed that I was not ovulating. I have to go for another blood test again on the 21st day.

My GP has told me that I am overweight. Could this cause me not to ovulate?

Controversial and one of those topics where one can pick their "link" to support their argument........BUT.......in my opinion......there may be an association between obesity and anovular cycles via a hormonal route.

"might".........sorry for sitting on the wall.
'They' (whoever 'they' are) do say that weight affects fertility. Underweight people can also find it hard to conceive.

Don't be too harsh on yourself.

Read the amount of stories of couples going through IVF, and failing, then decide, as a couple to give up, then to fall pregnant naturally.
Wait for the next lot of tests before you assume that 'being overweight' is a cause for not ovulating.
Being overweight and not ovulating may be linked, but the same hormonal problem may be affecting both.
Being underweight can affect ovulation also.
As ummmm says, don't beat yourself up.
For peace of mind, go on a strict diet, lose a couple of stoe and see what happens. If you don't and also do not conceive - you will never know.
