Most of you know that my son's gf had a baby girl last year. She is now just over 9 months old and is showing no signs whatsoever of crawling, or even attempting to crawl. Even when put on her hands and knees she just stays there and doesnt seem to attempt to move in any direction.
I know im going by my own childrens ages but do you not think she should be at least attempting to crawl by now?
Is she in a baby walker? (although I;ve no idea if that would help at all)
Does she do the bum shuffle?
As you know, each babby does their own thing when they are good and ready and make parents and grandparents sweat big style.
Hey don't worry Smow. One of mine didn't go until 13 months as she has always been Miss Perfectionist with whatever she does. When she did she was walking within ten days. The other went very early - but then she was iceskating by 2 and 5 months.....
hi smow - as you know my baby was born at around the same time, although 10 weeks early. She has only just started rolling over and is not sitting unaided yet. My husband says babies are all as individual as grains of rice - they mostly take around 10 minutes to cook, but some of them are done in 9 minutes, where as some take 11. Is your son or the mum worried? If so, get them to talk to their HV, although i suspect the HV will say just the same as everyone has said
Don't worry, my oldest son was 10 months+ and my granddaughter didn't really crawl at all...she was shuffling on her bottom at her first birthday bash :)
#1 daughter didn't bother with crawling at all. One day when she was about 11 months or so she just stood up and wandered past me in the livingroom. A very surreal experience for me!
I'm sure she'll do it in her own good time, I wouldn't worry Smow.
I took 13 months to walk, my still hyperactive sister took only 9 months to walk. I wouldn't worry, she'll crawl in her own time. If you have genuine concerns, see the paediatrician, they will know if there is anything physically wrong. I doubt it though, keep your chin up!
