I especially hate/hated garlic, coffee, sliced bread (like Kingsmill) anything with a rubbber smell, cigarette smell (esp on people's breath) & "toilet smells"!
Don't worry, all it means is your partner will appreciate you even more when you get back to being able to cook! My husband became very self sufficient which plesantly surprised me.
You will feel better in a few weeks & it is a good sign that you have a strong & healthy pregnancy.
Hi (am actually simont's wife as he has never actually been pregnant), and I had a hateful time with sickness and smells with one of my pregnancies. I ended up in hospital on a drip because I couldn't even keep water down, and I sympathise with you so much about the smell thing. The lavendar plug in which I think is called 'calming' or something, made me so sick that even now when I smell it (my sister uses it) it turns my stomach. I had just moved house when I found out I was pregnant and the different smell of the new house made me physically vomit. It was awful.
On the up side, it means that your hormones are so doo-lally at the moment that the pregnancy is obviously progressing nicely and little-Bottom is doing very nicely indeed and is very happy. The key is to make sure you get enough rest, try and keep as much fluid as you can down and use this time as you should-to rest your body to grow your baby. (Unless this is a second baby in which case, play 'hospitals' with your older child and you make sure you are always the patient!)
Good luck with it and God bless
I sympathise i really do! I was exactly the same when pregnant with my daughter! ( i couldnt stand the smell of bacon cooking or coffee amongst several others) I never found anything to cure it at the time but have heard since that ginger (even ginger biscuits) are supposed to help with the sickness, its definately worth a try, hope it helps! Good luck for the future x
