I'm not a big meat eater but I do love my veg. One slice of meat is enough for me. I like most meat bit cannot eat chicken if it has gravy on it. When we have chicken I always have it on a separate plate well away from the gravy. Am I the only one? What are your odd eating habits.

I don't like beans touching anything else on my plate so I have mine in a separate bowl.
I think gravy is odd - I'm not a big proper dinner eater, but never, ever have gravy on a roast dinner. I won't get started on my other weird food things (I don't eat with everyone else as I don't want the kids picking up my appalling eating habits).
Salad cream on Egg and Bacon sandwiches...yummmmm
I have mushrooms in a little bowl so they don't make the bagel/fried bread, etc go soggy.
Assuming you make your own gravy and have control of pouring it over why not just avoid pouring it over your chicken?

Off the top of my head the only quirk I can think of is, I like to add a dash of Worcestershire sauce to fried mushrooms when I'm making a bacon and mushroom sandwich. The sweetness of the Worcester sauce against the salty bacon is lovely.
Sher - do they not ask you why you don't eat with them?
Coleman's English Mustard on toast is rather nice. Spices up your breakfast.
Ummmm - no, they think it's normal as I am running around sorting stuff out for them. I started not eating with them when the things were learning to feed themselves, it just wasn't practical and my food was constantly cold. If we go out to eat then I eat with them all.

My Mother never ate with us when we were kids. She said she would put it in the oven to make it piping hot (before microwaves) We later found out her dinner always ended up in the dog, but that's another story.

I do make my own gravy Eccles but no matter where it's placed some always drifts on to the chicken.
Ummmmm, agree with you on the beans, I like them but can't stand them with a fry up
Not a food thing directly, but I hate handling tea-bags, the feel gives me the creeps. I can just about manage to pick one out of the cannister by its corner but I couldn't refill the cannister by taking a handful from the box.

A sandwich of Philly cheese, strawberries and crushed black pepper, on granary spread with unsalted butter is amazing.
^^^^ sounds delicious zebo. Will try that for Saturday brunch.
I cannot stand soggy bread or toast - they both remind me of cotton wool which I cannot touch. When my family have baked beans on toast, I have to have the beans in a bowl and the toast in a rack.
Mayo on chips is the business, vinegar a definite no no!!
all greens need vinegar to make them palatable
Does that include lettuce Tambo?!!

I love greens with the exception of broad beans and broccoli. I now they're good for you but I can't stand the taste. As for putting vinegar on them a definite no no. Vinegar is good for Athletes foot though.

My H seperates everything, it may be a full Sunday lunch but before he eats he will seperate everything into little piles before he starts.
Its most embarassing when we're out with friends. He reckons he picked up the habit when he was in the army yonks ago, They used to have plates that had seperate compartments.
I've threatened to get him a toddler plate thats sectioned.
