Evening all,

When did you switch from using your first pram to lightweight pushchair?
My little girl is now one, a lot of our friends have bought the Maclaren style lightweight pushchairs but not sure when is best to make the switch? We paid a lot for our pram/ travel system so want to get moneys worth! Thanks

I would stick with what you have and then get a lightweight (and cheap!) buggy for when your daughter is walking more than she is being pushed around (for holidays and day trips, etc) Why waste money on something you don't need?

Thanks sherrardk thats kind of my thinking, its just everyone kept saying aout swapping to a different cheap pushchair and im not sure why when th one i bought already cost hundreds! My little one isnt alking just yet so will hang on a bit!
She's your baby - you do what you like, chasing!
i have been having the same dilemma - buggies are for when the child CAN walk, but maybe doesn't want to all the time. We have a lightweight one at grandma's for her, (it cost £10)
We had a fancy-pants 3 wheeler off road job, that converted from a pram to a buggy.

We used that at home (round the farm) until the girls were happy to walk about without complaining.

We did have a lightweight umbrella type buggy for the boot of the car.

#2 daughter is now 18 months, doesn't use the buggy at home, but still uses the lightweight one if we are wondering round town for a long time.

Only you can decide what suits you and your child, don't give in to peer pressure!
Why does it have to be a Maclaren pushchair? There are plenty of light nice pushchairs which are cheaper. We bought one by Brevi because it was on sale. Sometimes there are discounts on http://www.prams.net/
Oh and we bought it when she didn't want to sit in the pram as much anymore.
