As with a lot of bird species you get a few 'accidentals' - ones that turn up where they are not supposed to- for instance there is a pair of bee-eaters nesting in Herefordshire at the mo.
Storks tend to migrate from africa to spend the summer in Central and Eastern Europe and like to build huge nests on tall buildings. If its in a park it will be feeding- they tend to feed by water. And lucky you for spotting it!!
Thanks for the speedy answer burnhal.
Very lucky by me indeed. The park is actually next to a huge estate with has extremley tall buildings .. and the park has a lake, (with many varieties of duck) ... it's becoming a little oasis in the urban jungle.
The Stork has been there for weeks now ... and it's huge!!! Blooming beautiful to look at though .. my little son was facinated by it.
