Got two Easter eggs to get decorated, two decorated Easter bonnets to supervise and now I have got a Roman woman's costume to make (and my hand still hurts), haven't got a clue where to start with the costume either.

do you have an old white sheet or tablecloth to turn into a toga?

Found some un-used white curtains (only cheap Ikea ones - no idea where they were bought for). The costume will have to be sewn somehow as girl will have to put it on and take it off by herself.

Fold a sheet, table cloth whatever in half across its length.

Cut a neck hole.


Cut slots through the two layers of fabric and feed through a decorative cord to make a a rushed shoulder.

Tack up the sides.

using more of the shoulder cord make a belt to draw in the waist.

Add a pashmina or other wide scarf to finish the outfit.

It's 'The Selfish Giant' - think boy #1 has done this one before. I don't mind doing costumes and stuff, it just seems to come all at once. Working mums must be pulling their hair out trying to get it all done.

its bendy! Despite making 3 swords and glueing the buggers together Tony. I gave up in the end and told her just to hold it further down.
