Osprey Worries At Rutland
20 Answers
A young male (33/11) has been worrying the Manton Bay nest. The resident female's (Maya) new partner (28/10) has not been willing to defend the nest and has not been at the nest since early yesterday. This means that Maya has not fed and has had to defend the nest for long periods of time leaving her three eggs uncovered. She will need to feed herself soon which means leaving the eggs again plus continuing to defend the nest against 33/11. There is now some worry that unless things change, all eggs will be lost.
