Moving abroad

I'm looking for advice from expats who have moved to Spain or Italy as I am thinking of doing the same ... particular issues are earning a living and moving with children

we moved to madrid 2 years ago without any real problems. knowing the language will speed things up, and there is a lot of beaurocracy. customer service is none existant but its still a great place to live. beats the UK!
