I can't help coz I ain't got no human kids.

But my first thought on reading your post was that they must cost you a fortune. And then you have to get them all through university.

I will stick to my moggies.

No hands on experience but am completely stunned when my friends tell me about the school gate mafia mums dictating what the whip round will be!
Sherr...while I always appreciated a gift, for me a note or thank you card meant just as much.

Many staff are heading for the hills or a darkened room so flowers, while nice, may be wasted.

I don't join in with anyone else. The teachers get a box of chocolates to share with the teaching assistants and I get thing 2's teaching assistant something (nothing big, just a gesture really).
gness, didn't any of the kids get you a pint of the Black stuff down the pub.
Is thing 2 doing okay these days?
You know about that, Tony????
Course I do !.

Hi wolf, he is still having daily speech therapy :(

Luckily he is really bright so he has come on a lot but it's easy to over look how poor his speech still is because of the improvements he has made.
Well I and and my colleagues never got them, I think it's a new fad that puts massive unwanted pressure on parents. A leaving gift yes but every end of year no way.
That is good - and it is good that he is being given the therapy on an ongoing basis. ☺

I spend £5 on each box of chocolates and a teeny bit more on the individual present (primary school only). Some parents do seem to go a bit nuts though and make a huge show of struggling through the playground.
please make it chocolates, Roses are my favs. Teachers I know, give them to me for hairdressing tips coz they're all dieting ;)

My teacher friends only wear designer gear, or take expensive holidays at the cost of accompanied students. They only spend money on sports clubs or hairdos.....lots buy booze tho.
When I worked in a school, I appreciated a little gift at the end of the year. The ones I treasure are handmade a bookmark, bracelet etc with a handmade card. Lovely
A Lochgelly
An English passport if they are Scottish.
A box of chocs, no more than a fiver for the main teacher along with a card, and a card for the teaching assistant.

Present, why, do they not get paid? it's a job!
Just a card from youngest child. The others have too many teachers to even work out where to start. We might buy a present if a favourite teacher was leaving, but otherwise, no. I have enough to buy presents for already.
