Judging by the bleeding heart comments from most of the Daily Mail readers , I don't suppose I can't expect any different from ABers on here especially from the female ones.
i wonder if the response would have been the same had it been her husband that took the lives of those three small mites?
Or even if a husband ended the life of his much loved terminally ill wife?

I don't think anyone can understand what it is like to look after a disabled child unless you have done so.
My wife and I have a slightly disabled son, and he is now 24, but it has been a roller coaster ride since he was born, and it still is.
So I hate to think what is must be like to look after 3 severely disabled children, the mental strain must be incredible.
And lets face it, how many women would find it in their heart to kill their own child.
She was obviously mentally unstable when she did it, with her husband away so she was on her own.
And what good does it do to leave her in prison, who does that benefit?
At least now she can look after her surviving child and try to get her life back in order.
And she will always have the memory she killed 3 of her children, and how many of us could live with ourselves if we had done that.

/// The original story was tragic enough without you trying to bolt on your hypothetical gripes onto it. ///
Yes it was tragic, the killing of three innocent children, couldn't be more tragic and since the perpetrator was their mother, that makes it even more tragic, and then to be released after only four months of treatment??????????
I think I have every right to comment on it, perhaps you would have wished to see this woman carry on with her life, without even going through the trauma of a trial?

Of course you have that right. It's just that your right also extends to conjouring up endless 'What if it had been a man/a muslim/an immigrant' scenarios.
I am glad that she was prosecuted and am also glad that she has been treated and supported through this dreadful time.
Her husband is standing by her and I suggest that *that* should be enough for anyone?

The original judge decided (on the basis of rather more than a Daily Mail article) that she was ill and needed treatment, not punishment.
The doctors have made a (possibly brave) call that she is no longer a danger to herself or anyone else.
She has a support network (primarily her husband) who will help her continue to recover.
There is no reason not to release her.
Whether 'society' would have treated someone else differently is utterly irrelevant.

ANOTHEOLDGIT, what evidence do you have that had the father of the three wee ones committed the crime, he would have been treated more severely?
What evidence do you have that she should not have been discharged?
What evidence do you have that the remaining daughter should not be looked after by her mother?
