This is impossible to sort out on an internet forum. You all need to get together and work this out between you. Mediation can be a good idea as the mediators can see all sides of the story. If it is at all possible avoid solicitors, they will do nothing but cost a lot of money. My daughter had a custody problem and the solicitor was charging £50 a letter just to say what we could have said ourselves. If this does go to the family court the only decision they are permitted to make is to do ' Whatever is in the best interest of the child' that principle overrides all others, there are no 'rights' other than the rights of the child .
