My Dad has dementia and me and my sister are POA. My mum has just found out that her name was never on the title deeds of house as back 50 years ag my dad was the only one working as mum had two small children being my sister and I. So obviously Dad took the mortgage out in his name as well as title deeds being solely in his name. They both have made wills when they retired before Dad was diagnosed with dementia. How can we protect my mum now to ensure she is not homeless if Dad had to go into a home? I am sure we cannot just add her to title deeds now due to POA being in place but we know Dad wants this?

There is no need to do anything and you are worrying unnecessaril y. Your mother will inherit the house as per the Will. Yes they are married have been for 50 years. My Dads will leaves everything to my Mum. It basically was an oversight all these years. Back then when you had a mortgage it obviously had to be in the name of person paying which my Dad did as Mum was looking after me and my sister full time. Mortgage was always paid out of their joint account. Just need to know, with POA in effect, can we still add my Mums name to title deeds. Dads will obviously remain on them also as not removing his name to just my mums but joint title deeds?
There is no need to do anything and you are worrying unnecessarily. Your mother will inherit the house as per the Will.
