The carer quite rightly lost her job, but I am unsure why the Police didn't pursue a charge of assault, as its quite clear to me that it was indeed an attack on a vulnerable woman.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.saw that yesterday Minty - only it showed the full video - so saw that not only did she hit her once - I counted the slaps and they were perhaps 4-5 - just hitting her randomly and saying she "stunk". when daughter came back - carer couldn't care less - lifted her bag to go. daughter immediately put her arms around the old lady - so so sad. carer should have got years - hope the family fight for her to get a sentence.
I dont understand why she wasnt prosecuted because there are seriously aggravating features (vulnerable person, breach of trust, unprovoked). I doubt the filming had anything to do with it at all. You can film what you like in your own home and do not have to tell anyone. I imagine it was because it was a first offence. Very often first offences are dealt with my way of caution. However wrong I feel that she wasnt prosecuted the upshot is she will never work as a carer again because it will show up on a DBS check.
