Golf High Biting Point?

Does anyone own a Golf and do you have a high biting point?

I have test driven a 2014 reg with 33,000 on the clock, full service history with VW dealer and 2 owners.

I've never driven a Golf before so is a hugh biting point normal?

I had a brand new ( at the time ) VW Golf for a couple of weeks last year and that also had high biting point, took me the couple of weeks that I had it for to get used to that clutch.

I occasionally drive pool cars, one of which is a Golf – I can’t say that I noticed a high biting point.

If there is adjustment (on the biting point) it might be worth asking for it to be adjusted before parting with any cash.

I find it a bind driving cars with a high biting point on the clutch, meaning that I cannot pivot my foot – but my foot is floating somewhere in mid air (especially when starting in 1st).

I don't have a lot of experience with clutches, being mainly an auto driver, but I would be worried that a high biting point on a clutch 33,000 miles old, driven in an unknown manner (clutch ridden etc) could indicate a lot of wear. I would want the clutch adjusting before I considered buying the car.
