My 7 year old son was worried about his homework yesterday, which was to name the months in the seasons. Now does anybody know what they as I'm not sure. I told him,

Winter- Dec, Jan, Feb

Spring- Mar, April, May

Summer- June, July, Aug

Autumn- Sept, Oct, Nov

Am I right?

Many thanks to you both

What a silly question to ask the poor child. Surely the seasons don't fit neatly around the calendar months which are artifically created divisions of time?

I thought the first day of spring was the 25th March - if that is the case then 1st to 24th March must be winter months?

I doubt it will go down well if he comes up with a smartarse answer like that, though. Got to play the game.

I just hope this doesn't put him off school.

Being a gardener, i have found that the seasons have shifted by one month over the last decade or so.
Winter is Jan, Feb, March
Spring is Apr, May, June
Summer is July Aug, Sept
Autumn is Oct, Nov, Dec.

But this is all weather related and i suppose there should be lots more taken into considderation

The teacher probably told them during the lesson but he forgot by the time he went home. This type of thing was on the news yesterday that more parents than ever are doing their kids homework.
