As A Teenager .....

What kind of clothes did you wear as a teenager?
Were you a Mod, Rocker, something else?
What kind of music did you like and who were your idols?

I was born in 1972, so by the time I became a teenager, most of the styles had gone out of fashion. I just used to buy what I liked in Shops/Sports Shops.

Music-wise, I grew up listening to Queen, and I still do, occasionally. I've got such a wide variety of tastes in Music, that I'd probably use up all 4000 characters, trying to list everything I like, although I've got to like Frank Turner in the last couple of years, courtesy of my Nephew.

I was a 70s electric folky type. At Uni multicoloured loons that had to cover your shoes or maxi dresses. Always wanted a stinky Afghan coat but never had one. Bit of a pariah with other female students because I wore make-up. Really into Steeleye Span with Fairport Convention and Pentangle close behind.

I couldn't do the twiggy or mary quant hairstyles as I have very curly hair (which I hate) .I dressed in minis and op art designs .listened to tamla and the Liverpool groups ,had pictures of them all over the bedroom wall .used pan stick and peel off mascara .

light in summer, warmer in winter; entirely devoid of style. No tribe. Beatles, Stones, mostly British music though I wasn't in Britain.

I lived through the sixties, 1967 the summer of love, San Francisco, "wear flowers in your hair," Beatles, Rolling Stones and then all the psychedelic stuff, motor bikes, leather jackets and jeans, then met the young Evelyn, sweet 16, so started wearing suits and ties.
A crazy but fun decade, (and naughty stuff), well, young and foolish :-)

I'm afraid to say that I was one of those teenagers that wore platform shoes , Oxford bags , flowery shirts with matching ties made from the same material as the shirts .

Anyone remember those ?

kipper ties lol .I had a lime green mini dress with a multi-coloured tie that hung the length of it .does anyone remember panti tights ,pastel coloured pants with tights attached

Platform shoes, peasant skirt, shaggy perm, Starsky cardigan. Then disco stuff. Then pencil skirts with stilletto ankle boots (surprised my Mum let me out like that) during the punk era. Music was mainly soul/funk

Born '48 so we were among thie first to not be mini-me, dressed like little versions of your parents. My favourite time was the years of cheesecloth shirts and floaty dresses, I have one now that I bought at a roadside in India, it's my hot-weather commando frock. My young grandson says I don't look a bit like a commando!!

Black, witchy loads of silver jewellery mass of henna'd hair doc martens or purple velvet long dresses for best. Very eclectic taste in music from T rex, through Neil Diamond to classical. Discovered new age music in the late 70s so listened to a lot of that. Just strange for those days.

I was a Mod in the 60s, had all the gear from the Crombie coat and striped t shirt and baseball boots, hair cut to a 1/4 of an inch all over , I even had a Vespa scooter yet I couldn’t stand The Who , I was mainly a Beatles fan

I had a cheap wreck of a scooter, then a Tiger Cub, then my pride and joy, the Bonneville, life was complete :-)

Mid 60s and very short mini skirts and matching coloured tights, chunky heels. Twiggy inspired hair and makeup...drawn on lower eyelashes. A few years later I had my olive green Afghan coat, and a gorgeous black gabardine maxi coat.
Music was Beatles and folk, folk rock...Crosby, Stills,Nash and Young, Joan Baez, James Taylor, Carole King, plus the Doors and everyone who appeared at Woodstock.
