The Annabel Karmel book is fab and is broken down into stages from when you are first weaning right thru to toddlers. You can give your baby most home made meals provided you leave out the salt and any really hot spices. I always made my daughters food in big batches and froze it in portions. Hope this has helped.
You can give a baby a lot of our food. Mashed potatoes, with veg chopped up. Eggs, baked beans, porridge, rice, fish without bones, chicken without bones but makes sure the pieces are small. The list is endless but just imagine it's for a baby, nothing too over chewy like steak or pork chops because they won't have the teeth. Don't forget fruit like bananas, apple pieces, clementines.
Yes, just give her 'proper' food in small pieces, chicken casserole etc but nothing spicy or too salty.

I have a baby boy who is almost 7 months. He has taken to pureed food no problem (well a bit messily)

I can't cook.... so needed something easy, so I bought the australian women's weekly "good food for babies and toddlers"

thanks alot for your tips ! better get in that kitchen !!!

I would definitely recommend the Annabel Karmel books as they are absolutely fantastic. She does one for toddlers, and also one for meals for the whole family, which is great for when your wee girl is older.

I'm introducing my baby to our food by pureeing it, and then mixing it with baby rice so it's a less strong version of what the rest of the family is eating - life's much easier if you can all eat the same thing.

We used to , and still do for emergancies, make batched of mashed / puraed veg. then add some fish, meat later. You can freeze the veg in portions and defrost in the microwave before adding the meat/egg

I had this trouble with my little girl i just couldn't think what to give her, if it was good enough, how to do it although i am quite a good cook. In the end i made up veg for her all purayed froze it and then stuck it in the microwave, you can add absolutly anything to this then, ham, fish fingers, chicken i use to buy "baby gravy" availible from boots they also do a cheese sauce this obviously moistens it for them another favourite is mashed potatoe with cheese hope this helps i know exactly how you feel but once you get going youll be fine
