Do You Think I Should Tell Everyone That My Friend Is A Pedophile?
11 Answers
This post is extremely similar to one I posted yesterday, but believe it or not, I know two pedophiles. A year ago, I was talking to my friend on playstation. He said he was feeling very guilty about something. I got it out of him, and he said that he dated an 11 year old when he was 18-19. St least i think thats what he said. He also said that he's into minors. Well, I message his sister over Facebook who I hardly know. I told her what he said. She said thank you for telling her, and then she asked how long ago he told me. I told her about a year, and she hasn't responded. That was a couple months ago. I told his sister because she had a young daughter my friend is around often she Also had a husband I've never met who im thinking about telling too. My friend has two parents I was also thinking about telling. I dont know how his mom would react, but im pretty sure that his dad would react in a bad way. He's older, and had conservative values, so he's not very fond of people who are different. I dont have much of a relationship with his parents, but whatever was there would probably be ruined. What do you think? Should I tell the rest of his family, or should I trust his sister will keep her daughters away from him?

In the UK you have systems for anonymous reporting also child protection charities that undertake more discrete investigations. Maybe you have a similar option. As he told you this directly it falls under hearsay but it's highly unlikely someone would say it if it wasnt A) true. B) something they wanted help in stopping. Paedophiles mostly stick to their own circles for safety. If they are still Your friend maybe it is better to support them in seeking help.
