I Have Seen How People Become Rude Adults

Over the past 2 decades plus, I have witnessed how someone transitions into a 'rude adult'

My cousin

I watched him grow up, he would often make jokes at other people's expense and his mother (my aunt) simply laughed at him. He made a joke about my dad being bald once, in front of him, and she found it so funny. There are many other examples. I brought it up once and she told me that if she didn't laugh at his behaviour then it would instead irritate her. So she chose to laugh. 
 

Now as a 26 year old, he is often sarcastic and rude in general conversation.

... and that attitude can only get worse. When he is really old, he will, I suspect, be a grumpy, hard-to-please old man. People around him will wonder what they have to do to please him.
