If You Could Live In Another Decade,...

Hello guys! Have you missed me?? lol. Far too much to put in this little morning post (will do one later on) but suffice to say my trip was a great success. Drove 3/4 there on fri with no issues then came to a major standstill because an adjoining road had had a car crash which caused them to shut the entire road both ways, so my road ended up gridlocked, and was stuck in it for well over an hour, but apart from that..... spent most of sat and Sun with Youngsmow, his partner & of course baby Theo, who is 5 months old and now smiling this beautiful smile that only babies have, and has just started to laugh the even more adorable baby belly laugh, which just makes my heart melt.
Drove back home yesterday and I decided to do it without stopping so apart from nipping into one petrol station for an emergency wee I drove home from Devon to London in one go, which was roughly 4.5 hours. My back is not thanking me at all this morning. (MrSmow was in passenger seat trying to sort n out a work situation on his laptop!)
Sooooo what have we all been up to?? Who's put their Christmas tree up? x

Where abouts was the gridlock, did you use a satnav or was it so recent it was too late to redirect you?
Did you have a chance to walk down and see the Bay of Lights which started Friday evening. We are going to walk down this evening, go up to the Abbey to the Christmas Market and get something to eat.
Morning ubasses. The gridlock was on A 381 I believe - I was on the A 380. It must have only just happened as satnav didn't realise! I was happily driving along then realised that everyone in front was slowing down, and then stopping. MrSmow looked on his fone and found the accident on local Devon news.
We didn't really go out tbh -we were going to go out for walks etc but the weather wasn't great so we really spend time indoors which was just fine. Has a walk on beach yesterday morning before the drive home, watching all the local dog walkers and their pooches racing around excitedly in the wet sand as the tide went out lol. Last time I was there I walked down on my own one evening to see a group of people going in for a swim - quite a lot of them. They must have been frozen as the sea was like ice!
Glad you had a wonderful time Smow. One of the things I remember about my two was the unique baby smell (obviously not the dirty nappy smell though I remember always having a sniff before we went out anywhere just in case lol).
Hope your back isn't giving you too much of a problem
Have a happy day everyone, at least its not so freezing cold atm
We went to Devon a few weeks ago, end of October. Nice weather. Visited family and went to the Williams Arms in Braunton. You must go there if you haven't already been. The best carvery anywhere, but they also have a lovely menu if you don't want a carvery. However, on the way back, we were held up on the M5 south of Bristol due to a lorry fire. It took us nearly 4 hours to go 5 miles. Not good, especially with everyone wanting to get into the services for a loo break. Happy days!
Hazlinny, it might have done if he was talking on the fone but he was just working online so was ok.
Rosetta, now this is when I really really wish I had a sense of smell ( I can't smell a thing !). I miss all of those wonderful baby smells 😢
Omg Clarion - that is a LONG hold-up! I don't think I'd have been able to hold on for that long lol! (May well look that carvery up tho!)
