My town was packed again today, the shelves are being stripped bare in the supermarkets. You would think everyone had won the lotto.

Or maybe there is no cost of living crisis

... or, maybe they want to avoid the Christmas rush, but they are themselves causing the Christmas rush.

I don't know where you live, Nicebloke, but according to you your shops are always bursting at the seams.  Ours aren't.  No empty shelves either.

Question Author

Some folk like to be involved in the Xmas rush.

You seem a bit prone to exaggeration, Nicebloke.

Not so tilly, if it wasn't busy i would say so. Even Waitrose was packed. The only shops near on empty were the charity shops.

He certainly does, my Morrisons was no busier than any Sunday today, shelves fully stocked.

You've been saying it since way back in November, Nicebloke.  Something about the economy doing so well, wasn't it?  😂

Question Author

Wouldnt know about Morrisons its the only one I have no time for. Its been going down the pan for some time, especially since being taken over.

It's the only place for miles that sells proper wet fish that isn't prepackaged. The have a good discount every Friday

Question Author

The fish and meat in my local one, the last time I went in was just awful. Stale fish and slimey sweaty meat.

^I don't believe that.

Question Author

Here's some doom and gloom that will make your day. Homebase is closing.

I know.

The Range have bought some of the stores.

Dread to think what Glasgow City centre is like, a certain football match upsets the shoppers.

Question Author

Yep the Range seem to be doing very well. Providing what people want at a price they can afford. Homebase lost the plot some years back.

Just hope the Range know when to call a halt to the expansion because they are taking on / over some big stores that must have some very high rents??
