Severe Night Sweats
Hi there. I am a 32 years old female. I have a 2 year old child. Over the past year, I have been suffering really bad night sweats. As in, I wake up throughout the night, and I am absolutely drenched in sweat and so is the bed, even the back of my hair is wet.
This doesn't happen every night, but maybe every few weeks and I noticed that it was just before and during my period this month and its starting to ease up a bit now that my period is nearly over. (I don't know if its every month with my period, as I only started to keep a record of when it comes, lately). I have a doctors appointment on Tues, but need a little peace of mind over the weekend.
I have No other symptoms, as far as I can tell. Anyone got any ideas? Of course Menopause has entered into my head, but I don't have any of the other signs, and I would be devastated as I want to start trying for another baby in the summer.
Thanks in advance for your replies.

If you are nervous when seeing the doctor, write down everything you want to say before you go. Are you positive about having no other symptoms? eg skin, hair, nail changes or itching ....loss of appetite, nausea, ....anything at all, however trivial you may think it is, make a note of it and tell him/her.
Easy for me to say but try to relax, anxiety will probably make it worse. In the meantime, keep your bedroom well aired but not cold, have a lightweight duvet, and a cotton nightie...although you may have done those already!!
All the best, take care.x
Night sweats can be a symptom of any number of conditions (don't let the list on this web page frighten you):

It's not necessarily menopause, it could be something as innocent as a thyroid problem. Good luck at your doctor appointment!
