Don`t know if this post should go in world cup or not. I heard today of a grown man in Scotland who hit a 7 year old child for wearing an England top. What is this world coming to??

Thank you pippa. I had n`t seen that.
It is unbelievable! Makes me ashamed to be Scottish, though of course you get scum like that everywhere.
i think one problem with football is, to some people it is almost like a religion - given the same gravitas in their lives as god is to a religious zealot - and we all know what trouble religion causes in the world...

I blame the press, and media for stirring up what used to be good natured banter into something more sinister.
We used to be British, but now thanks to Blair we are becoming like the old Yugoslavia.
These feelings are from a good friend, and Scotsman who drinks in my local,we've always enjoyed a laugh and a joke with him,and he still wears his Scotland shirt when England are playing!
Civilisation still exists but you don't hear about it.
it happened again today, a thug gave a disabled man a hammering too..disgusting. im scottish too!
We have had a Scottish bloke in the pub during an England game, blatantly cheering on the opposing team and slagging the English side off. Sorry, just something that sprang to mind about the whole rivalry thing. Fortunately ours is a friendly, trouble free pub but had it been somewhere else, it could have got very nasty. Friendly banter is fine but why does some idiot always have to take it a step too far. I still maintain that this incident has little to do with football and everything to do with being a violent thug. Pure and simple. Doesn't matter where in the world they come from, it truely could have been the other way round, of that i have NO doubt.
WBA. The scots have never liked the English and as far as football is concerned the feeling is mutual.. How the hell Blair gets dragged inton it is beyond me. Apart from us being a class apart, another reason for scrapping the home internationals was the trouble the Scots caused at games
Its not his fault he is Scottish, I blame the parents.
Do Scotland still have a football team ?? .........
Trouble with Scots who do this sort of thing - is they are jealous of the huge number of Scots who live a successful and happy life in England - the others are just to lazy to get off their backsides and lose their xenophobia - and I am a Scot
