Underfloor heating

Am thinking of having underfloor heating in bathroom extension and also in en suite to master bedroom. Was wondering as its going to be a new build extension whether i should consider having it in the bedroom aswell instead of radiators. Would it give off sufficient heat in the winter or is it just to keep your feet warm on otherwise cold tiles?

I take it you are thinking of the electric system because a water-based one for just a couple of rooms would work out costly (it needs various controls).
An electric one below the ceramic floor tile in a bathroom or other area with tiling works well. If you work on 200W per square metre it should provide enough heating in these rooms. It is controlled off a room thermostat, and obviously runs on peak electricity. I wouldn't put it into the bedroom, assuming you have conventional CH that you can extend with rads.

remember that your area of floor space is usually limited in a bathroom and consequently there is not enough heating surface. Remember also that underfloor heating is not really suitable in all rooms because of the lead in time for warmup, and in any case you are generally in your bed for the longest period in your bedroom.
