Toy Donation
2 Answers
I live in Gloucestershire and have lots (and lots!) of my children's toys that they do not use anymore, they are all in good condition and I was wondering if anyone knows of a company that would come out and collect them to be donated to charity or hospitals, or for re-sale somewhere perhaps? I can't bear to throw good toys away but do not have the time, or room in my car to deliver them. Getting money for them would of course be nice, but I would rather give them to kids in need for nothing as opposed to chucking them out.
Any ideas would be much appreciated.

I'm sure you could arrange for them to be collected.
You could spread the toys around a few different organisations rather than giving them all to one. Any toys you would like cash for you could advertise in the local newspaper.

I gave my friend a lot to take to Romania, I think nationwide there are still people going over there with goods, so there may be a local charity still doing regular runs. Also try freecycle.org.co.uk it's a national site with local groups, where you can post what you have to give away, and people who want it email you and come and collect it, equally you can go on and get things, we dismantled and collected a greenhouse in good condition for free, and have had collected 2 x 17inch computer monitors that were a sin to throw out, and the collectors were skint students , take a look, Some needy people arn't always in hospitals or on Charities lists. Also some needy families just miss out on being "that needy" however most social workers will know a family who could save and wrap up your toys for Christmas, give them a call. Someone will definately love them. I applaud you for wanting to put them to good use.
