Update on teen hol drinking question
Hi - I posted a question a few weeks back re teens (16) drinking on holiday. We went to Zante for 2 weeks and I am glad to say we all got back in one piece!!
The boys discovered that the legal age for drinking in Greece is 16 and despite us going on and on about being careful - they decided to buy a Sex on the Beach "fishbowl" one evening (whilst out on their own with a strict curfew time set for them to be back) - this resulted in my son being sick for the next 18 hours which I thought of as rough justice.
He actually put himself off much more effectively than all the nagging I could have done. So my fears were justified but didnt have the dire consequences I was worrying about.
I'm sure we weren't the only people with similar worries this summer!!

However your son had a day of his holiday completely ruined and felt dreadful so has probably learned his lesson . I suspect that the bitter lessons we learn for ourselves are better learned than all the admonitions of our parents, so hopefully next time you won't have to worry.
hi suzi-q, i had read your first post at the time. just want to say well done at being so open about these things, they will happen and having parents around who are so understanding to a teenagers need to try and be an adult is such a good thing, it makes the whole passage so much easier.
My parents where as honest and trusting and i feel that is i f i can give my children the same SENSE of semi-freedom then i will be honoured to follow in their foot steps.
