My 8 almost 9 month old son screams for no reason he screams at the top of his lungs it's an ear piercing scream like someone is trying to murder him...he's not crying and he constantly has my attention...I've tried telling him "no no" but that didn't work i've tried ignoring and that didn't work either...it is terribly embarassing when we're out trying to have dinner and have to get up and leave because of his screaming...how can i get him to stop???
as tiggeralix says it could easily be his teeth. They 'jump' in the gums causing spasms of pain which make a baby jump or cry out suddenly and then settle again quickly.
From what my father told me about rearing children
"If theres nothing wrong with the child let them alone... The screaming strenghtens the lungs...it's good for them"
Growing up he had similiar problems with me and my siblings. He would take us into the restroom and wait until we quited down. Eventually we realized that this kind of behavour wasn't to be tolerated in public and we eventually stopped.
