A guinea pig cage leaked a little guinea pig pee on to my carpet as the spill was under the cage it was undiscovered for sometime I tried to clean it with vanish carpet cleaner but it looks just the same except the carpet looks a little worn where I have rubbed.

The carpet is kind of a light brown (brown bread) colour and the small patch is yellow coloured, it looks almost as if the colour has been bleached out by the pee and it has been left yellow.

I have tried a number of times cleaming it with no change and I cannot risk any more rubbing due to wearing the carpet away. The colour looks like it will never come back and like I will be better trying to put colour back in with a little dye.

The carpet is in a rented house and the carpet is fairly new. If replaced it will cost us all a damage deposit even though it is a tiny stain. Due to the fact it is unfurished we cannot hide the stain.

Any ideas on how a remove it or dye/recolour it? Help?

Have you tried white vinegar?
I've just had the same with dog wee!
White vinegar mixed 50/50 with water will help neutralise the odour, and I think it was supposed to lift the stain. I'd left it too long though and it did still leave a mark. Next step, up to Asda! Someone recommended Oxiclean, but it says on the tub that it shouldn't be used on wool or wool blend carpets. Here's what I finally found, and it did the trick! "Vanish Stain Remover Oxi-action, for carpet and upholstery"! It's a pink bottle with a blue spray lever.
Good luck!
