My daughter is 18 months old and is due to have the new pueunococcal injection, I was wondering has anyone else given it to their child? Are they any side effects? Do you think it is safe? Please let me know she is due to have it on Wednesday. Many Thanks

Hi Sunita, my daughter had the new pueunococcal injection about 2 months ago there didnt seem to be any side affects. She cried for a second but as soon as it was over she was fine. It's not such a nice thing to sit there and watch your baby getting upset but I'm sure it's worth it in the long run. f you have any concerns maybe a chat with your health visitor will help put your mind at rest ?!!

All the best xx
My 10 week old had hers done last week, and she had no side effects at all, but not all babies are the same, some get grizzly and a slight tempreture, but a majority dont suffer anything
my son is now 10months - well on 14th dec he will be, he missed out on this one when he was first born so apparntly he's going to do the 'catch up' thing. when he had his i read the booklet they give you before hand and it just seemed the same as any oother injection - temp, reddening of the area, crankyness, off food etc etc etc. my son was great though - he was teething at the time too :\ one thing i will say though was that unlike any of his other injections he did have a big lump on his leg where the needle went. as all the nurses/healthvisitors etc say just give them some calpol and that should help :)
xXx
