i have my 7 year old grandson here with me Monday to Friday and often all weekend aswell, his daqd, my eldest boy, is 25 and also lives here, he tries really hard and is unable to work at the moment because of loking after him after school, but i also seem to be doing the mother thing all over again, and my youngest is 20.
I have no idea how things weill be in the future, my grandson's mum has been apart from my son since grandson was 6 mhs old, he is with us more than her, she picked him up on friday after not seeing him for over 2 weeks. i have warned my son that there will come a time when she will have more children and his boy will no longer be even that important to her. We cope well and he is a little star.

stay with it, i know it is hard ,sometimes i feel i want to fly away but in my heart i know that your grandchild will love you for being there for them,whoevers fault it is,i have two grandchildren from broken marragies,and they are my main concern,i know where you are coming from.I concerntrate on the children not the parents.
