me and my partner are desperate for our own baby but he had a vasectomy during his first marriage. we have shed so many tears and begged are doctors for a reversal but no joy.his attitude was "deal with it" we have looked into paying private and its about2.000. nhs don.t do it and it makes me sick when ex criminals come out of prison and get there tattoos removed for FREE so they can stand a better chance in getting a job. we have been together for 3 yrs and are very happy but would love a baby of our own.ANY ONE GOT ANY ADVICE.

its awful that the nhs wont reverse it! would saving up be a possibility, 2000 seems a lot but if you could save 100 pounds a month you'd be more than half way there after a year!
when you have a vasectomy, on of the questions they ask is about remarriage, death of an existing child, etc. so you do accept that it probably isn't going to be possible to reverse it when you sign up. i think it's a bit unfair to then criticise the nhs for something you/he accepted quite happily at the time.
my advice would be to pay the 2000, there really doesn't seem to be an alternative, and if you're both so keen to have a child together it seems a small price to pay.
and also to bear in mind that not all reversals are successful, so there may not be the happy outcome you want even if you do spend the money.
sorry to sound negative, but you have to be realistic.
You must be very angry but have you thought about adoption, there are thousands of babies and children just looking to be loved and have a home.

thankyou for all your replies and yes we have thought about adoption but we wont our own baby. also yes my partner was told when he had it if he was sure but at the time he thought he was happly married,he wasnt to know his wife was having an affair......... i am not slagging off the nhs but there so quick to abort young teenagers who get pregnant and dont think twice.we are still young and just wont a chance.... saving 2000 is very hard.
whoever has an abortion is not the isue im sorry but your partner chose to have the surgery done at the time knowing a reversal is not a great option.
