What do you mean by desperate for a babysitter? Do you mean someone to come look after your baby whilst you go out for the evening?

Nope, no way could I entrust a stranger to care for my child whilst I was out enjoying myself.

No, the http://www.missmolly.co.uk site gives you the opportunity to contact and 'interview'/ vet prospective babysitters for the future, rather than a quick fix. I just wondered if anyone had tried them yet?
i dont think i would trust them even if i got to spend a week with them before hand, it takes a lot of time to get to know people properly and what if you 2 yr old wakes up to a stranger and no mummy and daddy? why not just take time to get to know ppl and make some friends first. Imagine how desperate you would feel if god forbid some thing happened to your child, its just not worth it.
We used an agency when we lived in London but didn't like not being able to meet the childcarers beforehand, plus would get a different person each time. Have now found a wonderful local babysitter who is a professional nanny, so is not scared to care for my 6 month old twins. He ( a male nanny - http://www.nicksbabysittingservice.co.uk ) took time to meet us, show us his qualifications, references, CRB checks, that sort of thing, and spent time playing with the twins. It is great being able to have the same babysitter whenever we want a few hours rest from our babies.

I think that is the beauty of the Internet used in a pragmatic and sensible way. Like many things such as the Yellow Pages, for example, http://www.missmolly.co.uk gives parents the chance to do the selction themselves based on information regarding CRBs, qualifications and experience.

I think it is great that you found your male nanny at http://www.nicksbabysittingservice.co.uk/ , the more useful sites like these two the better.
