I really have to make sure those seconds count. I've noticed that if I brush my teeth at the same time and very exaggeratedly open my mouth while doing it he sort of copies rather than just chews which means that some of the time they are being brushed. Even the chewing will clean them a bit. Not much help but you could give it a try.

Have you tried giving him a battery operated toothbrush - much more difficult to chew and would probably clean faster - you also might be able to get a normal one in there while he was occupied wth the whizzy one! Also, if he is into stickers, give him one as a reward for allowing you to brush them properly.
