Negative Pregancy Test After Missed Period
4 Answers
I came off the pill last month in order to start trying for a baby. I am now considered to be 5 days late. I have tender breasts, bloating and the need to urinate more often which are I believe are signs of pregnancy although I didn't think I would get pregnant this quickly!! I have done a home pregnancy test and the result is negative. I know I need to do another in ~3 days time but I'm only small in size (not small enough to affect my periods!) and wondered if it may take longer for my HCG level to rise. Any advice would help! Thanks

Hi I would definitelt repeat the test but try not to get your hopes up too much cos sometimes when you think you're pregnant you imagine all sorts. Not that I am suggesting you're making it up but every time we had sex when I was trying for a baby I convinced myself I had symptoms and was so amazed and disappointed when the test was negative! Good luck and have fun trying!!
i agree with the above post. i too am planning, and came off the pill 6 weeks ago. last month, expecting still to be on a 28 cycle, i was late and got my hopes up. did three tests, all negative, but had swollen breast and no period pains. i ended up having a 39 day cycle. i am struggling to be patient, and let nature take it course and all... but it will happen in the end! see how you go this month, i know it hard waiting. i am currently using ovulation tests, as its hard to know when is the best time, when your periods are trying to get back into a routine. good luck x
