more than one child?
3 Answers
I have one child who is 11. She doesn't want any siblings and financially we could not afford any more children until now. There is a lot of pressure from friends and family to have another one. The 3 of us are happy as we are, but she is growing up so fast and we do miss a little one around. I also had a difficult birth followed by a couple of bouts of depression and am scared this will happen with the second birth. What's the best thing to do?

I wasn't well in my pregnancy and had depression after my first but I am not letting put me off another. I hope this time I will see the signs earlier and get help more quickly. Don't let the depression put you off, but it is your decision, not the family's. What about getting a kitten or puppy?! May sound daft, but if you are seriously missing looking after a little bundle of fun, well thats what they are (and a little bit of responsibility to remind you how much responsibility another baby would be!). Hope this helps.
Far too many people have children because they are pressed into it by wannabe grandparents, and 'well meaning' friends and relatrions.
Having a child is a massive commitment and responsibility, and it is for you and your partner to make, alone.
Any time anyone mentions the subject, simply clam up and stare at them - after a few times, they'll get the message.
Don't be bulllied, it is your body, yours and your partner's lives - others can butt out!
