Toddler sleeping
My 2 year old son has started waking through the night again. He had been in a good sleep routine - going down at 7pm and not waking until 5:30 - 6am but now he wakes up 2-3 times a night, every night. I am getting to be so exhausted on this broken sleep, plus i am also 21 weeks pregnant. He went into his own room about 3 weeks ago but had been waking up for several weeks prior to this. When he wakes he just sits in the bed and calls me so i go in, tuck him in and he goes straight back to sleep again. He doesn't cry or seem in any distress, it is like he just needs to know i am there and he is fine. How can i get him to go back to sleeping through the night again? Any help appreciated, thanks.

I would first check the physical things, is he too warm, cold etc, is the room dark, does he have a nightlight...research shows that a light in the room breaks the deep sleep pattern. My son who is 5 cannot stay in bed alnight unless it is pitch black, his light is now on the landing.
Also what happens if you don't go to him, try just leaving him, reasure him by telling him it's ok and see if he can get himself back to sleep but don't go to his room.
hope this works and good luck with the pregnancy.

I had this problem with my daughter when she was that age. I got a two way baby monitor and problem solved. She'd call out to me, I'd answer her by the baby monitor intercom system, let her know I'd heard her and she should go back to sleep and she'd lie back down and go out like a light immediately. Maybe he just needs reassurance that he's not alone. good luck with it!
