Step brother and how do I fix him?
5 Answers
My 8 year-old step brother is getting on everyones last nerve. This kids parents have been divorced since he was a year old. He has been a spolied only child, until me,my mom, and younger brother and sister, moved in. So when we moved in he felt like we were invading his teritory. After a while he got used to us,but in less than a year after i moved in is mom has got maried to a guy with three kids and on top of that they all live in a one story house so he has to share a room. His mom has always treated him like a baby and now that she cant dedicate 100%of her time to him he has been acting like a baby, and geting in to lot of trouble just so he can get some attention.I have tried to talk to him and fix him a little but he has adhd and he is the most suburn dude I have ever met in my whole life.If you told the kid to breeathe he would suffocate himself just so he wouldnt have to listen to you.So this kid wont listen to his parents or any one else,he wont even listen to me even though he looks at me like i am a god. this kid is so messed up he only has one freind and even that guy questoins why he hangs out with my brother. His mom having a husband is what really made him mad because he and his mom have(had)a really stong bond so his moms really wierd she is the kind of girl that does all that dramatic stuff and my brother really picks up on that so he acts gay sometimes and it really freaks me out so thats another problem.and on top of him acting like an ass hole he never wants to leave me alone he follows me every where and he just so stupid he finds out one of me 1000 freinds names(its probably more than 1000)and he never stops asking about them like there is a girl that i hang out with like once every 2 weeks, he found out her name and just every time my step dad asks if i what to invite any one over at my house he says "he why dont you invite maggy over?"i hate that kid so much so please how so you guys think i can fix him?

No seriously, 8 year olds are a pain at the best of time, but a messed up 8 year old with a chip on his shoulder is worse! I think you should offer him friendship and stick with him, he may pick up things from you that will straighten him out a little, i know its hard to hang with an 8 year old, but while you in the same house you may as well give it a whirl. just play on your ps3 or whatever console you have and tell him something like: if you be good, we can play again tomorr.

That little boy needs a lot of love and patience, king_turf. His ADHD can be controlled, depending on the causes of it, and he's clinging to you because he feels no one else wants him. It means his mum'll have to work closely with teachers and doctors, but for now, try and be patient with him, and lead by example. x
turf I have carefully read your rant about this poor child who has had his life turned upside down by having your mother and her three children move into his home. Put yourself in his position, seemingly unloved by all whom he has the misfortune to live with, he has tagged onto you (a 14year old role model?) If I were his mother I would be worried that he be influenced by such a sad individual as you. One thousand friends (correct spelling) get real !!! If you hate him so much maybe you should move out of his home and give him some space
Difficult for you, but he`s` the child and a disturbed one at that.
He has had a lot thrown at him in his little life and needs a lot of love. He probably just craves attention and any attention is better than none to him. Try to talk to him, be his friend nit his enemy, then he may want to be nice to you. He sounds like he is crying out for something. Be patient with him. I have worked with kids from all backgrounds and most of them just want attention, or someone to listen to them.
