My husband and i have been trying for a baby for 3 yrs now after 2 yrs of trying we were so depressed we decided to have a break unfortunatly we were badly advised (by my doctor!!) to use the contraceptive injection after 6 months using this form of contraception i had a period during the whole of the 6 months and continued to bleed even when stopped injection! in the end had to take hormone tablets to stop bleeding, has anyone else had this problem? we have now been trying again for a yr but i have just found out i am not ovulating!!
Sorry long story almost there now!!
i have tried everything i also have reflexology every week (has helped many friends and family get pregnant!!) but still nothing, because we are both still young (not late 30s early 40s) my doctor does not take it seriously and is not helping me in anyway!! do you have any advice or tips!?? i have thought about buying chlomed but it costs a few hundred on the net!!
Any answers would be great feeling so down now!!

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.My first suggestion would be to either change your GP or failing that press him severely to be referred to a Gynaecologist at your local hospital. Sometimes some people need a gentle 'push' with a course of tablets in order to concieve(my wife and I did, and it succeeded!) and you would have them prescribed, no need to purchase them.
Taking it one step further you may have to undergo a small laparoscopic procedure(usually lasts 10 minutes) where they inject a blue dye to see if your falopian tubes are blocked, but as i say that may be a step or two further down the line and hopefully won't get to that stage.
Best of luck.
No wonder you're depressed you poor things. Go ahead and change your GP asap. If you're in the UK, contact your local Family Practitioner Council (think that's what it's called). They might be able to recommend a Doctor who is sympathetic to fertility matters. If you are in a group practice, contact the Practice Manager and let them know how you feel, perhaps there is another doctor in the practice you could transfer to.
Once you have the GP sorted, ask for a referals to a specialist.
Good luck to both of you and I really hope there is the patter of tiny feet in the not too distant future...
I can only repeat what the others have already advised, change your doctor.
A good friend of mine went through similar problems with conceiving. She was unfortuante to suffer two miscarriages and later still stopped ovulating. She became very depressed, as children were the one thing missing in her life. Her husband was very supportive and suggested adoption to her. Her initial response was definitely no, she wanted her own babies. However, her husband persuaded her to at least have a look at adoption if nothing else. Reluctantly she agreed and was soon taken in by the whole idea. They went on to adopt two beautiful little girls who had lost their parents. They are her daughters now and she has never regretted her decision.
I wish you and your husband all the best, my thoughts are with you.

Try and be positive, I know it is not easy. I do agree that you should change your GP. You should get a referal as the others suggest. Like Philtaz's partner, all it needed for me was a course of tablets which gave me an extra boost. My difficulty in conceiving had been due to endometriosis and I suffered with stomach pains for a long time before moving to another area forced me to see another doctor, who took immediate action, and refered me. My original doctor had told me the pains were stress! Anyway I had an exploratory op which found the problem and, with the course of tablets, I was pregnant within 3 months. Pregnancy is a good cure for endometriosis!
Don't wait any longer before taking any action. You will feel much better if you know that you are being taken seriously and are getting some help.
Good Luck with Baby Wonky xx
Hi Wonky, you're being very good advice here and you should follow it the only thing I would add, and it's the hardest piece of advice to follow, is don't get too hung up on the whole thing. My husband and I tried for 4 years to conceive with the added pressure that my bio clock was ticking and the alarm was about to go off at any minute! I was stressed and depressed and eventually following discussion with my lovely Doc. went to an infertility clinic after first visit I felt calmer than I had done for years, at next visit I had to have a scan which revealed I was pregnant (4 days. I sincerely believe that you can get so wound up about it nothing happens. Thay ay new house new baby and I think there is a truth in that, your so stressed by house move you forget your infertility problems. Good luck!
Hi Wonky, I agree with everyone else here that you should try a more supportive GP. Also, I don't know if your husband has been tested, but if not, the problem may not be on your end. Some friends of mine tried and tried, and eventually the man got tested. Turned out that he had low sperm motility, which was fixed with a simple procedure. A few months later, his wife was pregnant.
Good luck; maybe you'll feel a little more hopeful with a different GP who has a different approach. If nothing works, go ahead and splurge on the chlomed!
